
Prakriti Foundation is a registered voluntary organization, under Societies Registration Act 1860 and Bombay Public Trust Act 1950, with its office based at Ralegan Siddhi in Ahmednagar district. It has also been registered with the Income Tax Dept. of the Govt. of India u/s 12-A and 80G (vi) of the Income Tax Act 1961.
OBJECTIVES OF THE ORGANIZATION :
a) Sustanable agriculture and rural development: Training,
research and support in the field of sustainable agriculture and rural
development, implementation of community based development projects
towards overcoming problems related to depletion of natural resources,
documentation of development work in the field of natural resource
management.
b)Utilaization of latest state of the Art Geo - Informatics Technology: To develop Geoinformatics applications in rural
development; like watershed development, NREGA, drinking water scheme,
rural bio-energy, micro-level village planning, etc. and to aid
monitoring and evaluation of on-going rural development projects with
GIS and RS applications.
c)Educational: To establish and run schools, colleges,
hostels, public libraries, vocational centers; to provide for new and
emerging types of education as per advancement in science and
technology.
d)Medical: To establish and run hospitals and nursing
homes; to hold health camps and yoga shibirs, to establish and run
veterinary dispensaries for animals and birds.
e)Social and Charitable: To establish and run hostels for
working women, to take up any activity of general public utility such
as pure drinking water, public gardens, etc.

Mr. Ashok Tanurkar is the Chief Functionary of Prakriti Foundation. He has been working at Ralegan Siddhi since 1991 has experience in implementation of various development projects, coordination of short term training programmes, project management and administration. He is a Mechanical Engineer by education and a Fellow of Leadership for Environment and Development (LEAD) International, London.
Mr. Pravin Jiwane, also an Engineer by education, is the lead actor in community based development projects of Prakriti Foundation. He has been residing in the tribal block of Ralegaon in Yevatmal district of Maharashtra since last 15 years and adopted farming as a source of livelihood by choice. His firsthand knowledge of and experience in farming has helped Prakriti Foundation to formulate projects on dry-land agriculture development. He has built a strong rapport with the farming community including tribals and small and marginal farmers over the last one and half decade.
